While asking questions may seem a simple task, it is perhaps the most powerful tool we possess as presenters or trainers. Asking the right question of the right participant at the right moment, may inspire them to new heights of vision and insight. A good question can excite, disturb or comfort, and eventually yield an unexpected bounty of understanding and critical awareness. Join us for an interactive session on engaging employees to identify, address, and solve safety challenges! Led by Jon Sowers, OHST, CHST, CIT, SMS, Senior Safety Management Consultant with SAIF, & Mark Hurliman, CSHM, Voluntary Programs Coordinator with Oregon OSHA, this popular presentation is routinely sold out during Oregon Conferences. The Oregon Sharp Alliance has continued its presence at conferences throughout Oregon and in Washington at the Region X VPPPA. All the conferences the SHARP Alliance supports through Legacy Sponsorships had representatives manning the new vendor booth (pictured at right). The SHARP Operating Committee voted to increase its financial Legacy Sponsorship of:
* Govenor's Safety and Health Conference, held in Portland on odd years. * Cascade Conference held in Eugene in March. * Region X VPPPA Conference held in May rotating between AK, ID, WA and OR. See the web site, Classic Home - VPPPA Region X (regionxvpppa.org) for additional information. * Blue Mountain Conference, fully sponsored by SHARP Alliance in Pendelton OR. * Central Oregon Conference in Bend held in September annually. * Southern Oregon Conference held in Ashland in Portland in October annually. * Western Pulp, Paper & Forest Conference in Portland the week after Thanksgiving annually. Workshops are not always specific to Pulp, Paper and Forest. * Safety Break for Oregon, held in May, annually. * O[yes] Student Video contest held annually Check the calendar for more details on all conferences, regional and SHARP Alliance activities.
